NEWS June 9, 2007 Hestia Cup 9-Ball – A good performance

The fourth and last tournament of the Hestia Cup Series in Sopot, Poland and the promoters, together with the Polish federation, had invited me to this TV tournament. Hestia, an insurance company in Poland, which is also involved in basketball sponsoring, had already organized three such events and always invited a foreign player. The Polish TV station Polsat broadcasted all three matches in full length. The matches were played in races to 7 with alternating break.

The draw made me play the probably strongest Polish player, the Eurotour winner from Liberec, Wojciech Trajdos. Without making any mistakes, I won 7-3 and entered the final against Adam Skoneczny from Poland, who had defeated his fellow countryman Dawid Jedrzejczak in the second semi-final 7-5.

In the final, I played less well, but the result was the same. With an undisputed 7-3, I won the event and was qualified fort he Masters which was to be played three weeks later.
